Now that our new headquarters is up and running, we have started a new chapter. In a former garage in Amsterdam’s Schinkel district, we are bringing innovation to life and giving entrepreneurship every opportunity to flourish. Welcome to The Core.

CBRE Netherlands is expanding
In 2011, we employed 240 people. Four years later, that figure had risen to 425, and has since passed 600. As we grew, our housing needs became increasingly complex. Employees are generally less bound to the office, we now work with rather than for our customers, and demand more from the buildings we use. Not only had we outgrown our premises, but our needs also changed considerably. Conclusion? Time for a new HQ! A flexible, innovative place with few internal partitions, where we can cooperate to the full, both with each other and with our clients.
The search
In our search for a new headquarters, we focused on four core elements: smart tech, sustainability, health and co-creation. Determined to add quality to the built environment, we looked for alternative locations. Ramshackle barns, empty restaurants: nothing escaped our notice, but eventually we settled on the former Peugeot garage in Amsterdam’s Schinkel district. Through the prism of our DNA and our aims for the building, we developed the workplace concept. How do we want to cooperate, now and in the future, and how can we ensure that our new offices facilitate these ambitions as effectively as possible?
Real estate is a relatively traditional sector, so we asked ourselves: if we want to break new ground, what specific innovations do we want to implement?

The result
The result is The Core: a fantastic new headquarters where we breathe life into the latest innovations in sustainability, technology, collaboration and health. The building, both WELL and LEED certified, can house three hundred CBRE employees. In all four zones – the CBRE Café, the Client Lab, the Workshop and the Library – the user experience takes centre stage. The Core facilitates collaboration and gives entrepreneurship the space to flourish. The interior design has already won two internationally recognized Frame Awards. For the foreseeable future, it’s quite simply the ideal place for us. Will we see you soon in the Schinkel district? You’re more than welcome to drop by for a visit.
