  • Case study

    Uber

Spacious business lobby with floor-to-ceiling windows, abundant natural light and city views. Contemporary interior design with neutral colour palette, wooden bench with integrated planters, person working on laptop, reception desk with prominent Uber logo, manned by two receptionists, decorative flower arrangement, person at standing desk, man in suit walking through lobby, cloudy sky and buildings in the distance through large windows, professional and welcoming business environment.

When Uber first approached CBRE, they were situated in an office at the Amstel station. Rapid growth led to a need for a larger office space.

  • A stylish indoor café or break room. The space is well lit, probably by a combination of natural and artificial light, although the source of natural light is not visible in the image. The color palette consists of neutral tones with accents of green and blue, creating a calm and inviting atmosphere. In the foreground, there is a round wooden table with a light-colored surface, surrounded by four chairs with dark blue upholstery. There are no visible items on the table, suggesting that it is clean and unoccupied. In the center of the image, there are several other tables similar to the one in the foreground. Each table is accompanied by chairs in the same style. One chair is occupied by a person working on a laptop. The person appears to be concentrating on his work. In the background, there is a counter that serves as a bar. Behind the counter there are shelves filled with various glasses, mugs and a fruit basket. One person stands behind the bar another sits in front of it on a stool having a drink. There are strategically placed potted plants in the space to the right of the image, adding a touch of greenery and enhancing the overall aesthetic. The ceiling has rectangular acoustic panels that likely serve to dampen sound, and there are recessed lights that provide additional illumination to the space.

In response to the pandemic and their changing organizational model, CBRE Investment Management is curious about a completely new way of working.

  • A furnished indoor space that functions as a café or informal workspace. The space has an industrial feel with exposed pipes on the ceiling. There are round tables, chairs, a bar with stools and plants that create a fresh atmosphere. The lighting is warm and the floor appears to be made of light wood. The overall atmosphere is modern, inviting and functional, focused on social interaction and collaboration. The floor along the bar extends to the back of the picture and heads toward the entrance to a large meeting room.

ofi operated for decades from the Zaan region and is now exchanging this traditional working environment for an industrial one in Amsterdam.

  • A corporate building in daylight. The building has multiple floors and is equipped with a large number of windows that reach from the floor to the ceiling, giving it an open and transparent appearance. The architecture is sleek with straight lines and a clear geometric structure. The building has a flat roof and the facade consists of light-colored panels interspersed with large glass sections.

When Upfield's R&D building in Rotterdam had to close, they designed a building that would be as sustainable as their plant-based products.
