In 1998, CB Commercial acquired the holding company REI Limited (Richard Ellis International), marking the start of the international company
CB Richard Ellis. The takeover of the Insignia Financial Group followed in 2003, making CB Richard Ellis the biggest real estate advice group in the world.

Richard Ellis started in the Netherlands in 1973. In 2006 it took over N+T and Rietmeijer Huisvestingsadviseurs. At the moment, there are more than 200 employees working on the success of the company from offices in Almere, Amsterdam, Hoofddorp, The Hague and Rotterdam.
